Lighting: Making a Statement

No longer just a means of shedding light, lamps and other lighting fixtures are making big statements, often with a Mid-Century Modern sensitivity.

Kichler® recently debuted a line of indoor pieces that reflect this big-statement trend. Designed to make a stunning addition to a variety of interior settings, the line boasts larger-than-life chandeliers and dramatic pendants and sconces.

“In recent years, we’ve noticed a surge in the popularity of larger and overstated lighting options,” says Lauren Lovett, Kichler’s decorative interior product manager.

“The trend right now is grandiose chandeliers, pendants, clusters and drum lighting—all in increased diameters and lengths,” she continues. “Customers want statement pieces that pack a punch in living rooms, dining areas, kitchens and bedrooms. Based on this need in the market, we found it imperative to exemplify this in our 2016 line.”

Key products from the line include: The City Loft, a soft, modern-statement pendant with an adjustable arm design; Emory, an updated pendant collection with a drum-style shade; Keller, a schoolhouse pendant featuring a retro style and clear, seeded glass; Passport, a Danish-inspired, Mid-Century Modern standout; and Rosalie, a stylish chandelier collection for ceilings above 8 feet.
